About Us

Our Story

Creative Voices of Freedom is a storytelling-driven organization dedicated to amplifying voices that too often go unheard. We believe that stories have the power not only to heal, but to transform lives, shift perspectives, and create real pathways to freedom.

We work at the intersection of creativity, advocacy, and economic empowerment. Through collaborative storytelling initiatives, we partner with survivors of human trafficking to help them reclaim their narratives and build sustainable futures. By turning lived experiences into meaningful creative work, we open doors to income opportunities, skill development, and long-term independence.

Our approach is rooted in dignity, agency, and authenticity. We do not speak for survivors—we create platforms where they can speak for themselves, on their own terms. Whether through written stories, digital media, or collaborative projects, every voice we support carries the potential to inspire change and challenge systems that perpetuate exploitation.

Creative Voices of Freedom exists to foster a world where survivors are not defined by their past, but empowered by their voice—and where storytelling becomes a bridge to both personal and economic freedom.

Who We Are

Marci Renée

Founder, Director

Marci Renée is the founder and director of Creative Voices of Freedom and the founder and director of the Strawberry Girls—a Spanish anti-trafficking, non-profit organization working with Moroccan women exploited through the “Red Gold” strawberry industry of Spain and into the brothels.

When Marci first started volunteering at the safe house in Spain seven years ago—translating for broken, traumatized women—writing was the only way she could survive. Her heart breaks and pours out in her words on the page. Marci writes and tells stories—her stories, others' stories. She believes everyone should have a voice, and that we are all created with a deep desire to be heard. She feels called to be a voice for the "Silent Ones." Marci is the published author of seven memoirs and creative non-fiction books and eight children’s picture books.

Besides writing, Marci is a global nomad who has lived with her family around the world. She also has certifications as an English and French teacher, public speaker, life and writing coach, trauma debriefer, and narrative therapist.

Adair Evans

Chief Development Officer

Adair Evans partners with organizations across Europe to address one of the most persistent challenges in anti-trafficking work, long-term economic independence.

With a background in outreach, safe housing, and ongoing support for women exiting exploitation, she has seen firsthand that leaving is often only the first step. Without realistic income opportunities, many women remain vulnerable to returning to the same conditions.

This became more than a structural issue after the loss of a woman she cared deeply about, whose lack of economic options led her back into exploitation.

That experience helped shape the direction of Creative Voices of Freedom, a growing collaboration that equips women with practical, creative, and vocational skills that lead to sustainable livelihoods. Her work now focuses on helping partner organizations integrate these pathways into their existing programs.
